AfterDark doing Butterfly Effect 3

BenderSpink and FilmEngine will produce the third installment of the cult classic The Butterfly Effect along with After Dark Films, which will theatrically distribute the film as part of its After Dark Horrorfest “8 Films to Die For” series. The film marks the third original film created for Horrorfest that After Dark is producing and distributing theatrically. After Dark CEO Courtney Solomon will executive produce along with company’s Laura Ivey and Stephanie Caleb.

Ellen Wander's FilmBridge International is handling foreign sales at the Cannes International Film Festival. Principal photography will commence on September 1st in Vancouver. Holly Brix (MTV Films/Paramount’s The Lost Girls, Phoenix’s Mile Zero) wrote the screenplay and casting is currently underway.

In The Butterfly Effect 3, a young man discovers he has inherited the powers of "The Butterfly Effect" and attempts to solve the mystery of his high school girlfriend's death using his newfound ability, only to unwittingly unleash a vicious serial killer. “We’re taking the Butterfly Effect to a whole new level of insanity,” stated BenderSpink’s Chris Bender.
