The Mummy: Tomb of King Ghidorah?

I'm not a big fan of Stephen Sommer's revamps of the original Mummy. However the new Mummy might be a decent slice of cheese entertainment. While at work today, I was doing 'the cart'. Basically I walked into theaters with a cart full of soda, candy and popcorn and wait to see if anyone would buy before the movie. And yes...they did buy my overpriced stuff.

As I was standing there, I looked over to the screen. What was playing was a brief EPK for Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. A landscape shot of the desert and the final seconds of the EPK got me wondering...should the film be retitled?

Should it be called The Mummy: Tomb of King Ghidorah?

Now, this is just me thinking. The landscape shot I just spoke of consists of a large shadow of what is defiantly a dragon flapping it's way along. Quite clearly you can see it's a three headed dragon by the shadow. And in the final few seconds of the EPK, I took notice it was a large three headed dragon (though you can only see the neck up) that spit out the fire to form the titles. When I got home I checked out the trailer...and it's there. Check out the trailer here.

As I look at the picture of the dragon from the movie, I'm also looking at a picture of King Ghidorah from the Gojira series. Now to me, if you compare Ghidorah vs the Dragon at the end of the trailer, they look remarkably similar. The 3 Heads, the horns, shape of the head, and horns on the side of the head look like that from Godzilla vs King Ghidorah. The coloration is different and it spits fire, but the physical stuff I can see gets me curious.

What do y'all think? Does the dragon at the end of the trailer look like Ghidorah? It's a very close resemblance that makes me wonder. We'll find out when The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor or Tomb of King Ghidorah hits theaters on August 1, 2008.
