Kurtzman On Board for Lynch's Nagin

Not long ago we told you about Jennifer Lynch's new film, Nagin. Yes, she is the daughter of David "Eraserhead" Lynch. The film stars two of the top actors in India, Mallika Sherawat and Irrfan Khan. The story centers on the Far Eastern myth of the snake women who can take human form.

Today Robert Kurtzman dropped us a line to let us know that his "Creature Crew" at Precinct 13 and himself will be providing all of the effects for Nagin. Here is a bit of what he had to tell us, “We at Creature Crew arevery excited to be involved with the project which will present for the very first time an American Werewolf style Human to Snake transformation utilizing state of the art special make-up and animatronics not seen in earlier incarnations of the Snake Women films.

Apparently these snake women films are very popular in the East. The producer, Govind Menon reveals that there have been over 50 of them made in Asia, "Given the population of India, China and the Far East the Snake Woman has more fans than The Werewolf, Vampire, and Mermaid combined. We hope to make the definitive version and also introduce the 5000yr old legend of the Shape shifting Snake Woman to the West, who must have had their fill of Vampires, Werewolves and Zombies!

This really sounds like a great idea. I have never seen a snake woman film myself so I would love to have another creature feature be told. I'm also excited to see this transformation from Woman to Snake Woman. If it looks half as good as the American Werewolf In London transformation it should be amazing.
