Colin Firth Joins Dorian Gray

Today the trades announced that Colin Firth will be joining Ben Barnes in the adaptation to Oscar Wildes The Picture of Dorian Gray. Barnes has titular role of Dorian Gray and Firth will play Lord Henry Wotton, the aristocrat who corrupts Gray with his worldview. If you have read the novel you might remember him as Harry. Producer Barnaby Thompson and director Oliver Parker will reunite once again for this film.

Based on "The Picture of Dorian Gray," the story centers on Gray (Barnes), a young man who becomes the subject of a painting. As the man descends into a hedonistic lifestyle, the portrait begins to age and morph, but he doesn't. Thompson has said that Parker wants to make this "a visceral, dark horror story". Shooting began sometime this week. Be sure to keep it here for more on this.
