Goonies Sequel Rumor Debunked?

Yesterday we told you from the really cool dude Clint that Warner Brothers was working on a full theatrical release sequel to Goonies. Unfortunately today Cinematical has debunked the rumor.. sort of.. saying they think their is some confusion on what Warner Brothers is working on. They think the Goonies 2 movie Clint is talking about is actually 'the treehouse gang'. Cinematical reports;

we did speak to multiple people "in the know" and they claim it's not at all true. In fact, they suggest this Goonies sequel might be getting confused with a film called Treehouse Gang, which is very similar to Goonies and is actually being described as "Warner's Goonies." That film follows a group of childhood friends/explorers who meet up at their 10-year reunion and wind up on a treasure-hunting adventure. Definitely sounds like the perfect Goonies sequel if, ya know, they filmed it when all those guys were in their late 20s, not late 30s.

So once again it seems the rumors of a Goonies 2 sequel are just that rumors... if anything all this talk should show Warner Brothers that we as fans are interested. But its hard to say if Goonies 2 could carry in theatres well. Would you go see it?
