Dimension picks up Adrift Movie Rights
Dimension Films has optioned feature rights to the short story Adrift by Koji Suzuki, author of the novel that spawned 'The Ring,' according to Variety. 'Adrift' is the story of a fishing crew that comes across an abandoned yacht only to discover it's haunted. Suzuki's novel spawned several Japanese and Korean film adaptations before it inspired DreamWorks' 2002 remake.
This sounds all good but we are gonna have to wait and see how this turns out. Hopefully they will do his writing justice. I also hope that they do not try to "Americanize" his book to much because when Hollywood does that they usually lose the atmosphere that the Japanese bring to their films.
