Proyas Talks Dracula: Year Zero

At comic con Proyas told us that his next film was going to be Dracula: Year Zero. So now we can expect to hear little details seep out about the film. Today that very thing happened when he spoke with MTV. He told the site, "(Dracula: Year Zero) [is] sort of the origin tale that mixes [the historical] Prince Vlad of Transylvania with sort of [fictionalized] Bram Stoker [take]”.

As we all know vampires have had all kinds of mythology thrown in over the years. So what exactly will Proyas use? “Oh, you’ve got to have teeth,” Proyas exclaimed. “I mean, the teeth are really important. I think Frank Langella in the ‘Dracula’ movie that was made in the 70s, I think he didn’t want to have teeth in the movie. But, no, I like the teeth. I want to see girls with a lot of teeth.”

He went on to say that he won't include garlic. Which seems perfectly fine since it is kind of an odd thing anyway. But when asked about a bat transformation he remained mum. But he has promised, “Stakes and teeth,” the director smiled. “And we’re lots and lots of blood!
