Perlman Talks Hellboy 3
Ever since Hellboy II: The Golden Army opened up at the box office in a big way whispers started up about a possible third film. Director Guillermo del Toro himself always said that he had always wanted to make the films a triology. Now with the second film approaching $100 million in the box office it seems like that may be a very real posibility.
Ron Perlman recently spoke with Moviehole about the success of the film and a possible sequel, "This ride we're on, opening number one at the box office, that's just icing on what was already the most delicious cake I'd ever bitten into," Perlman tells the site. "Nothing's been announced but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a third, particularly on the heels of Hellboy II's success. And I know Guillermo has an incredibly well-articulated idea about what the third movie needs to be. It'll answer a lot of questions. It almost needs to happen because with the ideas that he has about closing the trilogy, it would be a shame for it go unfinished."
If you were lucky enough to catch the second film in the theater you would definitely agree that a third is in order. So many unanswered questions and it seems as though del Toro deliberately set it up for a sequel. If we do see one though it may not be for another four or so years. Right now he is busy working on The Hobbit in New Zealand. So hopefully this ball gets rolling while he is at work so once he is done he can hop back on board.
