Goonies 2 Movie is Dead

Awhile back Sean Astin made it clear that Goonies 2 was in the pipes and was going to be coming strong. It was great to hear since who would not want a Goonies 2 if it was done right and involved 0 of the 2 coreys. Unfortunately today from VARIETY comes word the project is truly dead.

Richard Donner and Spielberg were working on the project but it didnt pan out. Richard Donner hints that the scripts he was submitted just did not hold up or make sense as a sequel. So in a nut shell Richard is not willing to do like Lost Boys and make a TERRIBLE sequel just for the sake of cashing in. Here is hoping a good script is put together and we end up with a fantastic sequel at some point.
