New Director Talks Saw VI

The Saw franchise has a pretty big split crowd within itself. We have horror fans like myself who despise the films and others who absolutely love them. It is truly a series of films that fans have a lot of opinions about. Now with a new director on board will he be able to change the tide one way or another? Well Fearnet sat down with Kevin Greutert and asked him what the tone of Saw 6 will be.

"Out of the five movies, Saw I is my favorite because I thought it had the most out of the bunch. It was very stylistic but also referenced giallo filmmakers. It had a good twist, but then it also had good dramatic elements. But I also loved Saw II with the adrenaline and the pace of the thing. It moved fast enough – because Saw I was kind of slow and meticulous and Saw II was more breathless. I’d love to be able to do both."

Well you have to give the guy some credit because even he recognizes when the franchise started to go downhill. He went on to say that he will definitely bring back the giallo from the first film and use more of that iconography. He also mentioned that the script is not yet finished and that Costas Mandylor, Tobin Bell, Mark Rolston and Betsy Russell will return.
