Unborn Lycan Ratings

After watching some TV in an attempt to savor every last second before trudging back to college, I saw two trailer spots for The Unborn and Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.  Both trailer spots revealed the ratings for the separate film.  Without much surprise Underworld got an R rating.  Though what was a surprise to me, was that David S. Goyer's The Unborn is rated PG-13. 

After seeing the theatrical trailer and various online clips, I had expected it to be an R rated movie.  However, this might not be such a bad thing.  Goyer might actually break the stereotype, factory pressed, sterlized PG-13 horror film (see Prom Night for a Grade A example of this).  The film looks rather interesting, hoping for something good.  What do you all think?  Still interested in seeing The Unborn now its saddled with a tame sounding PG13?

The Unborn is due out January 9, 2009 while Underworld: Rise of the Lycans comes out on January 23, 2009.  During the interceeding week, you can catch My Bloody Valentine 3D on January 16, 2009.
