Indie Horror Posters That Kick Ass
The one thing that I see time and time again that is never done right is the poster art for indie horror films. It often looks like something done after the fact by your buddy who is an auto mechanic. should never be used to make a horror movie poster... I do not care what the budget is.
When you are looking to build buzz and sell your movie you do not need to have a big fancy promotional company backing you but you do need to pull together a few resources at the very least to put out a poster that lures fans and gets them absolutely stoked for your film, regardless of your budget. Here are a few case and points of great indie horror film posters.
Hell Patrol: The gang behind this film put alot of work into making a whole bunch of cool posters for the film which you can see here. I settled on the poster below as one of the better ones but frankly they are all cool.
Zombie Diaries: Any way you cut it this poster is one of the best posters for a zombie film ever made. Once again these filmmakers actually did two very cool posters for the film. I like the poster below the most out of them but you can check the others out here. I really was not impressed at all by the trailer for this film but the poster definitely sold me on it! And yes that is our very own GOON quotted on the poster.
Blood Stained Romance Poster: I literally just found this poster today. The filmmaker sent me his trailer which was definitely unique and entertaining. The poster however was the epitomy of top notch design work. This is the kind of poster that makes you want to pick the movie up and is another illustration of GOOD poster design work.

Alien Apocalypse: Shot on a shoe string budget this film had one huge thing going for it and that was the talented Mr Bruce Campbell. Admittedly most people HATED this movie but I loved it in all its B-movie goodness and the poster just reek's awesomeness. Josh Beckers indie sci-fi film has one of the best b-movie posters I have seen in awhile. Oh and for the record the quote on the bottom is me. Gotta make up for Goon getting that earlier quote and stoke my ego a bit :)
SportKill: I have no idea what the latest status on this indie production is since it has gone dead quiet on it for a long time but the posters are once again the definition of coolness. You can checkout more of their posters here. I also suggest you watch the trailer in this case. Crazy cool trailer!
BitchSlap: This film has had some insane buzz and although the budget appears to be on the higher end of independent films it definitely is well polished and all of its posters look fantastic.
Obviously I could go on and on listing cool posters but these are just a few of the thousands of posters I have seen that have caught my eye. Feel free to share your own favorites in the comments. If all indie filmmakers put just a little of the effort the above did in their posters we would see alot more indie films getting alot more buzz.
