Horror Movies You Cant Watch Once

Meh

As you all know I own an obscene amount of movies. I actually stopped counting a LONG time ago when the pile got so obscene I couldnt even see my walls anymore. I think it went from pile to man eating monster. I have not seen my cat in months but their is definitely odd smells and sounds coming from my movie pile.

That said there are certain movies that I continue to watch over and over again and am at risk of actually wearing out. This editorial is for them! With each film I have included their user ranking in our database so you get not just my opinion but the opinion of the readers of this site. Whether it agree's with me or not :)

First off Comes SEVEN. Seven is one of my all time favorite films. Great writing, great acting and as noted in another earlier editorial it has one of the coolest endings ever. Starring Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman its both a great character piece and a terrifying thriller all rolled into one. When I first saw this movie I was riveted and when the ending punched me in the stomach like a line backer I was so impressed. I have seen this movie over and over and so should you.

Next up is Dead Heat. Dead Heat is one of the best and one of the first horror zombie comedies I have ever seen. A buddy cop flick along the lines of Lethal Weapon or Rush Hour only it involves zombies. Such a great flick and quite shockingly only one review for it on site.. mine. Without question this film is a must see and if you have be sure to drop in your 5 cents about it. Good or bad. Dead Heat is funny, zombie filled and action packed with lots of great one liners and action to go with it. I have seen this one so many times on VHS that my tape is starting to fall apart and the case has long ago gone missing.

Deep Rising is next up and is one of the best scifi horror movies I have seen in quite some time. Gruesome, funny and definitely packed full of action it tells the story of an abandoned cruise ship that is hijacked by mercenaries who go toe to toe with a giant sea worm.. or hundred. I bought this film for $3 on VHS years ago and I have seen it well over 40 times. IT is safe to say I definitely got my money's worth.

Next up is Army of Darkness and quite shockingly it seems that the consensus with fans who have reviewed it is that I am alone in my love of this movie. I was absolutely SHOCKED to discover that the film had an approval rating of only 61%. That is staggering to me. Army of Darkness I have seen no less then 40 times and it is the one movie that I own in every single format and edition.

I have it on VHS and DVD and on DVD I have it in the various available editions. I think this movie is one of the funniest and most entertaining horror comedies ever made. Seems at this point I am quite alone in my thinking. What is better then a smart talking S-Mart employee being tossed back to medieval times with a shotgun and a chainsaw to dish out some ass kicking good times. Since I love this movie so much i encourage you to review it at the link below to help this classic film gain some momentum.

At this point you are going to start thinking I have a thing for horror comedies since my next one on the list is TREMORS. I do love my horror comedies but dont worry there are other films on my list it just so happens I am lumping all the comedies together. Tremors is an awesome horror comedy that is gruesome and fun and stars Kevin Bacon. Well written and well directed its the definition of a fun time that will scare you and make you laugh your ass off.

This next one is a two for one since I have watched both films equally a ton of times and loved them both equally. Its sort of like if I birthed out some evil twins ( which would be really evil sine I am a dude ). I am speaking of Dawn of the Dead. The classic is awesome for its great writing and story telling and the sequel is awesome for its unique take, insane action and scary as hell running zombies. You cant go wrong with either one and both I have watched more times then I can possibly begin to count.

Since I do not want to go on and on forever I am going to close the list out with my all time favorite crime thriller. Based on a true story the film is absolutely fantastic but without question the coolest part of this movie is the behind the scenes extras. ZODIAC is both creepy and overwhelming since the killer to this day is not identified and they have no clue who he was or how many people he killed. I strongly encourage you to checkout the special 2 disc edition and watch the special features. They have detailed interviews that trace the entire timeline of the film with not just the people who investigated the crime but also one of the people who survived the Zodiac Killer.

Any of the movies above are well worth checking out and are movies that I have worn out watching over and over again. With the exception of Army of Darkness it seems that readers/critics agree with me so if you have not seen any of these films check them out. IF you have seen them be sure to watch them again. I know I will be.
