Nite Tales Anthology Series Coming
Last Halloween on BET Flavor Flav hosted an anthology film entitled Nite Tales. The DVD will be hitting shelves on February 3rd. However today Director Deon Taylor and Flavor Flav have announced that they will be taking the movie and making it into an anthology series for TV. Taylor describes it as Tales From the Crypt meets Twilight Zone which is kind of funny considering I would say there is no real middle ground with those two as they are essentially the same thing.
But anyway, soon they will have a contest online in which fans get to select a name for Flavor Flavs character on the show. Flav will serve as the host of the show much like The Cryptkeeper. Apparently the show is going to target a young audience who would consider this a new concept.
The plan is for "Tales" to premiere this year as a weekly cable series, with an immediate syndication window next year. In success, the parties said the show could follow an expedited production schedule so that, with the cable outlet as a partner, new episodes could be made available as a strip for subsequent years.
Taylor is also planning on releasing a "Tales" movie every Halloween. He is working on a film right now called "Terminated" with scribe Thomas H. Fenton (Saw IV). So Taylor is definitely keeping himself busy and we will soon see another one of his films once Chain Letter gets some kind of distribution.
