Total Remake

Director Paul Verhoven is a mad genius, pure and simple.  A mad Netherlander with a mean streak of Sci-fi movies a mile long.  He's done dramas as well like Soldier of Orange and Black Book, but we all know Verhoven as the man who brought us heavily over-the-top bloody action affairs like Starship Troopers, Robocop and Total Recall

His 1990 film Total Recall based on Philip K. Dick's short story "We Can Remember it for you Wholesale" is probably one of the best flicks to star the Govenator and has Michael Ironsides playing the villian.  It has insane violence, freaky mutants, a dude playing a dude with a little dude coming out of his chest, what more could you ask for?

A remake you say that is done under the prentense of 'using new modern special effects to tell the story in a fresh way'?  Oh yes HollywoodReporter, tell me more, that is what I am....okay I can't keep this sarcasm flowing for a remake.  Right now producer Neil H. Moritz is in negoiations to devlop a remake of the '90 sci-fi actioner with Columbia Pictures.

Since negotiations are still going on, there is a chance that the film could not be made or that if the budget gets too high, it'll can the film.  But honestly, there is no one working in the movies today I think could capture the wonderful insanity that Paul Verhoven has that goes into his pictures.  Keep your eyes peeled here as we update you.
