Two Beauties Head for the Darkness
THR has reported today that uber hotties Amber Heard (Mandy Lane) and Odette Yustman have signed up to star in a remake (yes another remake) of a 1970 British Thriller called "And Soon the Darkness." Before we get all the standard, "not another remake" comments, let's take a minute here and realize that this was made almost 40 years ago, and was a foreign thriller. So, it's highly likely that most of haven't seen the original, nor even ever heard about it! so, it's really just like an original! Well, er, let's check out the details anyway...
Darkness is a movie about firsts. The director Marcos Efron is making his feature directorial debut with this one, coming from the world of commercials. Even Amber Heard has a first, taking a stab at producing by being a co-producer with a handful of others.
The Original movie was set in France, and dealt with the idea of someone in a strange land and their vulnerabilities. The remake will move to Argentina, and deal with a couple of American girls who ride their bikes to a remote area of the country. When one goes missing, the other must find her, before her biggest fears are realized, and the darkness sets in.
It sounds decent enough. I'm one of the people I described above that have never seen the original, so I'd check this one out. Especially since I'm such a big Yustman fan! What do you guys think??
