Poesssion Finds Release...To DVD

For those short of memory, Sarah Michelle Gellar starred in a film called Possession, a redux of the South Korean film Addicted.  The remake was directed by duo Joel Bergvall & Simon Sandquist whose film The Invisible was remade back in 2007.  Any bells rung?  Well, maybe the plot will jog a brain:

The story of Possession was that after a freak car accident, her husband and his brother end up in hospital.  The brother awakens sometime later, thinking he's Gellar's husband.  And as with all things horror, something sinister is at work.

This ring any bells?  No?  Not surprising, the film has had more release delays than something produced by Bob & Harvey Weinstein (za-zing!).  But, seriously, the release date switching has been because of financial problems with the company The Yari Group, who produced the flick. 

Well, Bloody-Disgusting has word that after so many delays Fox Entertainment will send the film straight to DVD.  As such, no details on the disc are out, but I imagine that the only special features it'll have are trailers.  Possession will be on DVD shelves on May 12, 2009.
