Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus

The Asylum's lineup for the summer has some titles I'm looking forward to.  We have The Terminators, Transmorphers 2, The Land That Time Forgot, but the one I've been waiting for a while is Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus.   Oh yeah, a movie about a shark going toe to toe with an octopus...but they're really, really big.

The California coast is terrorized by two enormous prehistoric sea creatures as they battle each other for supermacy of the sea.

Straight simple and to the point kinda plotline.  You can check out the film's page at Asylum's official website to see the DVD art and some stills.  The film stars Lorenzo Lamas, Deborah Gibson, and Sean Lawlor and is directed by Jake Perez (under the psydoneum Ace Hannah). 

I can only hope that the film has some B movie fun in it.  Most low budgets concerning sharks are nothing but crap ie Shark Attack and lets not even mention Octopus.  Though I think that Giant Octopus is lacks much a ring, Giant Squid I'd prefer.  Most of all however, I hope it's far better than the crap fest that was Asylum's last mashup movie: Alien vs Hunter.  Keep your eyes peeled here for when the trailer is released.  Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus hits DVD May 19, 2009.
