Twilight Gets American Pie?

From the Director of AMERICAN PIE comes the next chapter of the TWLIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE. 

Somehow, I can't see that playing in any trailers.  But I can see SNL or MAD TV somehow exploiting this if this rumor turns true.  In the last round of rumors for the Twilight saga, actress Drew Barrymore was rumored to be the director Summit Entertainment had hooked for the third book in the series.  In this new slew of rumors, tracing all the way back to Acting411; Barrymore is not directing.  Instead, Paul Weitz, who is the brother of New Moon director Chris Weitz, is in line to direct the third film.

Paul Weitz, who is probably best known for directing American Pie back in 1999 and co-directing About a Boy with his brother Chris, is currently in post-production on his new film Cirque de Freak, staring John C. Reilly, Salma Hayek and Ray Stevenson. 

As of now, Summit has yet to comment.  So far the only thing fully certain about the third film is that it'll start shooting when the second film is in post-production.  We'll let y'all know more as news becomes available.
