SAW VI Update
Another year, another Saw film. Producer Mark Burg updated on OfficialSAW site that we'll be seeing a familiar face. Amanda, Jigsaw's accomplice through the Saw franchise (and offed in part III along with her mentor), will make a return in Saw VI. Producer Mark Burg:"Shawnee Smith is in SAW VI. There are also several new characters. Also, this moie is a lot more violent than the previous V. Lastly, we have traps that pit victims against each other like the opening of SAW V. Could be the best script yet!"
Yeah, after part V, there shouldn't be much of a place to go but up. The opening trap to the last installment was cool, but the film failed completely after that. Sure it was violent, but the plot was so disjointed and there was such a disconnect between the victims and FBI, there wasn't much to follow. And I think I can say with complete saftey we'll be seeing Shawnee in flashbacks.
Other news is that Saw VI will go before cameras on March 30 in Toronto. Kevin Greutert, who worked as editor on all the Saw films & Repo! The Genetic Opera, is directing with Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton returnning to pen the screenplay. Saw VI is due out October 23, 2009.
