Clive Barkers Book of Blood To Debut on SyFy

It would seem that the not so bloody Book of Blood will see its debut not in theaters as was originally planned but rather on the SciFi Channel which was recently and idioticly renamed SyFy. seriously... wtf? But back to the point according to Fangoria economic times have forced the film to SyFy rather then a theatrical run.

“There can’t be a worse time, economically, to open an independent horror film in the U.S. than now,” Harrison told the crowd, “so we will instead do a major cable launch on Sci Fi around September. We hope to get the movie on a few big screens before then, but it’s tough.”

John Harrison a while back while working on the film in London told iF Magazine that despite the films name its really not that bloody.

"It has its moments, but it is not a gore-fest. It is more of a supernatural thriller a la THE OTHERS, or THE ORPHANAGE. Very moody. Very character driven. We screened a preview of the first ten minutes at the Frightfest Festival here in London last week. It’s the big U.K. horror festival, and thousands of fans come from all over the U.K., the U.S. and Europe. It went over really well. Big applause. So fingers crossed."

So depsite sounding like it is pretty blood less at least some of the fans have liked what they saw. I'm still surprised however that it is going to be more supernatural than anything else.
