McG Spoils Terminator Salvation Ending.. WTF?

First off its worth noting this is the ALTERNATE ending.. not the actual ending but its still pissing me off that he would reveal it and ruin one of the films endings. Be warned, although this is the alternate ending you may not want to read further. McG in his wisdom told IO9 in an interview that the rumors that Conner dies were quite true and that the ending was going to unfold as so;

That was at a time when there was a very dark ending. There was a great irony in the way this film shook down. There was this leak that Connor dies and they put Connor’s face on top of the machine body of Marcus. Everybody went, “Booooooo, what’s that?” That’s half of it [the ending].

We had a jet-black ending. Connor dies, we’re in a room with all the people we care about. You take Connor’s likeness, you put it on the living machine of Marcus. He sits up, now looking like Christian Bale, takes a gun, kills Kate, kills Kyle, kills Star, kills everybody, eyes flare red, [snaps] the end.

Friggin cool ending but wtf? Why dont you release it on the DVD and surprise the hell out of us with a really cool ending rather then ruining it? That said... how do you do a 3 story ARC with Conner dead? Well the answer to that has already been revealed since the next Terminator will be in Modern Day... not the future. Although the future in this case is only 9 years out. The next film will be based in 2012 and show the machines taking over, not the war that we get to see in Terminator Salvation. What do you guys all think of the alternate ending? I think its damn cool just a bloody shame he revealed it rather then releasing it on the DVD.
