Deadlands 2 Acquired By Anthem

Director Gary Ugarek contacted us to let us know that the sequel to his popular indie hit, Deadlands, has been acquired by Anthem Pictures. Anthem is also known for founding VUDU the in-home movie download system that features tons of HD Content. So it is possible that they will be releasing this through those channels as well.

Deadlands 2: Trapped is expected to street October 13th 2009, and will contain footage not in previous film festival or review screener releases. Plus also sports a newly tweaked ending. The film stars Jim Krut (Dawn of the Dead) and Josh Davidson (Perkins 14). Ugarek and company are busy working on a remake of the original film which should go into production sometime in 2010.
