Gossip Girl Joins Aja's Piranha 3D

Gossip Girl's Jessica Szohr has signed on to star in Alexandre Aja's remake of Piranha. Szohr will play a local girl who is intrigued by all the excitement of spring break when it descends on her sleepy lakeside town. She is joining Elisabeth Shue, Adam Scott, Ving Rhames, Dina Meyer and Richard Dreyfuss.

Story kicks off after an underwater tremor sets free scores of prehistoric man-eating fish in a tourist-friendly lake, forcing a group of strangers to band together to battle the area's new razor-toothed residents. Filming will begin this month in Arizona with a schedueled release date of March 19th, 2010.
