ALIEN Remake?

Alright, let's say this first off, this is a RUMOR and hasn't been confirmed by any official studio source.  However, it isn't outside the realm of possibility as 20th Century Fox is planning to go ahead with a Predator reboot, which honestly I wouldn't mind seeing as the first words out seem to be it'll be less of a remake and more of it's own thing. But, Fox seems to be going after their other great monster.

Bloody-Disgusting reports that an anonymous source says that Fox is going back with plans to remake/redux/reboot/whatever other similes you like of Ridley Scott's 1979 classic Alien.  According to their source, Ridley Scott and his brother Tony Scott are attached to produce the film.  Carl Rinsch, a commerical director who has worked for the Scott brothers is apparently going to direct the film.

Once again This Is Rumor till a more official source comes through.  I hate the idea of a remake of Alien as I'm sure many of us do.  But I won't doddle on that.  The issue I find is that pretty much anyone who has seen or heard of the franchise knows of the Alien biology.  So the most shocking scene in the whole film won't have the impact, unless you've never seen or heard of the franchise. When it comes to a video director doing the film, if Scott has confidence, good for me.  We'll keep you posted if this devlops into something more solid, or if it is just idle rumblings in the studio that don't go anywhere.
