Ridley Scott Directing Alien Remake?

Not so fast on that earlier news that Carl Rinsch would direct the upcoming ALIEN Prequel. Collider broke the news that Carl would be directing and their source was rock solid, Tony Scott. But according to Entertainment Weekly the big honchos at Fox dont want carl they want Ridley Scott. EW is reporting that the only way the Alien Prequel will ever happen is if Ridley Scott agrees to helm the project himself. Not just produce it.

I think a prequel that takes us to the home world and shows us the true roots of the Aliens would be absolutely fantastic. That said I am hungry for any good ALIENS spin off movie.
