5 New Zombie Movies Worth Watching

Meh

There are an awful lot of zombie movies and the zombie genre is without a doubt one of my all time favorite genres. So I thought what better then to have a look at the genre which we all love so much and share 5 New Zombie Movies Worth watching.

I have never actually done a Top 10 Zombie films but MovieMaven did do a Top 10 Zombie Comedies so this will be the companion piece to that. All 5 of the films on this list made the list based off reviews and buzz that it has generated on our site in the last three years or less. So in no particular order here are 5 New Zombie Movies worth Watching

Dead Snow: Dead Snow is getting lots of love from readers and is a foreign zombie flick that mixes some of the best elements together. Nazis, Hot Chicks, Camp and Zombies. The film got a very limited release through IFC last week and is without a doubt worth checking out when it hits DVD. It has an approval rating of 80% with horror fans and is high on my list of films to see as soon as I can.

Pontypool: Being that the film is Canadian it is definitely after my heart since I love to support films that are from my own country. Alot of shitty films come out of Canada but alot of good ones do to and Pontypool is an example of that.  Helmed by renowned Director Bruce McDonald, PONTYPOOL marks the filmmaker’s first venture into the horror genre. The film is adapted from the novel “Pontypool Changes Everything” by Tony Burgess which tells the story of a morning radio show broadcasting out of a church basement in the small town of Pontypool.

What starts out as an otherwise ordinary day suddenly turns deadly when reports start coming in of a strange virus spreading through the town. the film has a staggering 85% approval rating on the site. This film just like Dead Snow got a very limited theatrical release but will be quickly making its way to DVD.

Deadlands 2 Trapped: This is a very low budget indie zombie film and the filmmaker is actually a casual member of our forum who posts updates from time to time. The original Deadlands got a very mixed reaction from fans and has an approval rating of only 65% but the sequel has done much better with fans getting an 85% approval rating putting it on par with the higher budget Pontypool and Dead Snow.
