Director talks Little Shop of Horrors Remake

I am usually ok with remakes but this one is a clear cut bad idea in my books. Little Shop of Horrors is wierd, quirky and b-movie magic. How exactly do you remake a movie like Little Shop of Horrors? The director told Fangoria what he plans to do with it saying;

 “I’ve done a deal with him [Roger Corman] for the rights to LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, and the remake is in progress right now,” O’Brien reveals. “I’m basically going to do it as a horror film, which is going to upset a ton of people who loved the musical—and that’s what made Roger excited. He was like, ‘You’re really going to piss them off,’ but he liked the take—he thought it was very, very smart. We’re trying to find financing for it now.”

It is rare I am adamantly against a remake but for me... this one better not happen. What do you all think?
