Rosemary's Baby Remake Dead

Somehow its come up as new news so figured we would go back to a post a few month ago. Here is the news we shared awhile back that yes.. The Rosemarys Baby remake is DEAD. Apparently the folks at Platinum Dunes have decided that the Rosemary Baby remake was not such a good idea after all. They have apparently cancelled plans to do the remake according to Esplatter. No idea what the actual source of the quote is but Esplatter quotes them as saying;

"We went down that road and we even talked to the best writers in town and it feels like it might not be do-able. We couldn’t’ come up with something where it felt like it was relevant and we could add something to it other than what it was so we’re now not going to be doing that film."

I gotta say that is a pretty straight forward quote that I can respect. What I liked about their remakes when I did like them was they did bring at least SOMETHING new. This is a much better quote then the earlier one that Shock  got where they said they 'had to do it'

"If we don't do Rosemarys Baby someone else is," says Fuller. "They're not going to pass on that. Being horror fans like we are, we want to take the opportunity to take shot at it rather than read about someone else doing it.

So it would seem for the time being Rosemarys Baby is dead. In the original film, Rosemary and her husband move into a new apartment, only to be surrounded by peculiar neighbors and occurrences. When Rosemary becomes mysteriously pregnant, paranoia over the safety of her unborn child begins controlling her life. Right now the guys at Platinum Dunes are busy working on two other classic remakes of Friday the 13th and Nightmare On Elm Street.
