Universal Nabs Rights to Go Mutants!
Universal Pictures have just picked up the rights to Larry Doyle's novel "Go Mutants!". Brian Grazer will produce and Larry Doyle will adapt the novel into a screenplay. The book as a matter of fact is not even finished yet. So he will be working on the two simultaneously and will have it published by HarperCollins this summer.
According to Variety, "Go Mutants!" is a teen comedy/adventure set in a high school where all of the tropes from classic 1950s alien invasion movies came true. Years later, the children of those mutant creatures have assimilated among the other kids. These "creatures" will include the robot from "The Day the Earth Stood Still" -- and the creature from the black lagoon.
