District 9 Sequel Planned - HorrorMovies.ca

Absolutely no shock here but a District 9 sequel is being planned according to EW. As much as I loved the movie and feel it is one of the best scifi films made in years it is getting a very mixed reaction from fans. It seems to be a clear cut case of die hard film fans loving it and mainstream fans ( I assume folks who like fare like Transformers ) despise it. Our film database which has 22 reviews on it gives the film a dissapointing 57% approval. We have lots of 8 and 9 out of 10 scores but there are alot of 1 out of 10 scores which are driving its score down.

The best comparison I can make for District 9 is its Blade Runner for the 21st Century with a complex story, fantastic FX and passionate characters that will draw you in. That said it is slow, it is drawn out and it does have plot holes. I look forward to a District 9 prequel or even a sequel. If you have seen District 9 be sure to submit your reviews!
