First Clip from Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant

A few weeks ago the trailer for Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant debuted to some interesting reactions ranging from "it's like Twilight" to "it looks like Big Fish."  Needless to say no matter the thoughts there was some interesting discussion about the trailer.  I for one am a little biased as I am a big fan of the book series, but we can get into that another time.  With the trailer out and the movies October 23th release date inching closer, a new clip has found it's way online.

MTV got their hands on a new clip from the film, which is a fight scene between our main character Darren and his friend Steve.  The easiest synopsis I can give for the clip is that Darren became a half-vampire in order to save his friend Steve's life and Steve didnt react quite how you'd think.  Check out the clip at the bottom and see for yourself.

Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant is based on the first 3 books of Darren Shan's popular Cirque du Freak young adult book series.  The film follows Darren, a young boy who is made a half vampire and becomes the assisant of vampire Larten Crepsely.  The two travel with the Cirque du Freak, a freak show, while Darren learns what his future holds as he becomes a Vampire.  Scheduled for release October 23rd, Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant is rated PG-13 for sequences of intense supernatural violence and action, disturbing images, thematic elements and some language.
