Lussier Tapped For Halloween 3 3D

Rumor has it that Steve Miner was in talks to direct the 3D third installment of the Halloween reboot series.  Thankfully or disappointingly depending on how you view Miner as a director, that rumor can almost be debunked as of now.

Variety reports that the Weinsteins are in negotiations with Patrick Lussier to write and direct the new film.  In a way, its not so surprising, almost a natural choice.

Patrick Lussier directed My Bloody Valentine 3D, so he has experiance in the new digital 3D realm and since that film was a success, grossing over $90million dollars worldwide, I'm sure the Weinsteins are hoping he can bring that success into the franchise.  Negotiations are still on going and we'll bring word when deal is finalized and in which direction Lussier will take the franchise.  Halloween III 3D is due out Summer 2010.
