Kevin Smith's Red State Gets Funded?

I have been keeping a very close eye on Kevin Smith's Red State since he first announced he was making a horror film. Smith being one of my favorite directors I was absolutely astounded to hear he was going to be working within my favorite genre. But as soon as it was announced it scuttled back into obscurity.

Today however the guys over at Den of Geek were able to speak with Kevin Smith while he was out pimping his new book "Shooting The Sh*t with Kevin Smith: The Best Of The SModcast". Smith revealed to them, "I got a call at 2am last night. I think we’ve got the money for Red State.”

Its about damn time someone stepped up! No word however on whether this will be his next project or not because the man is always busy pimping something else. Keep it here for more on Red State and whether Smith will be able to get it off the ground.
