People Under The Stairs Remake a Sequel?

Mistressofhorror emailed in to let us know that the long planned remake of People Under The Stairs will apparently be a sequel. All along we figured it was a remake but BD is reporting its a sequel.

At a press event held in LA last year it was revelead that Wes Cravens plans to remake SHOCKER and The People Under the Stairs is going ahead.

Wes Craven is very fixated lately on doing remakes of classic horror films and for the most part I am not impressed. That said in fairness I did enjoy the Hills Have Eyes remake. SHOCKER is not a fav of mine but The People Under the Stairs is an absolute classic.
