During a earnings call Viacom's CEO Philippe Dauman made a pretty bold statement about a possible sequel to Paranormal Activity. What he said almost sounds like a definite sequel is in the works, "Our team will come up with the right creative and marketing approach to make sure that we benefit from a sequel."
Now I think that even mentioning a sequel at this point is disastrous. Have they not learned of the mistakes that Artisan made? Whether or not the film is any good it is obvious that the market is over saturated with Paranormal Activity. Soon we are going to see more spoofs made about Paranormal Activity. Soon porn is going to make a "Sexual Activity" and SNL is going to be spoofing the hell out of it.
Only time will tell of course. Even the Blair Witch sequel made money. So if thats all they are after.. They may be in luck but if they want a franchise I would suggest letting it cool down. But we want to hear what you guys think of a possible sequel?
