Danny Boyle Directing 127 Hours

Danny Boyle is gearing up to direct his next feature 127 Hours for Fox Searchlight. Danny Boyle of course was the mad man behind 28 Days Later and Sunshine. This time out it seems as though this flick will probably play out more as a human drama but the details are truly horrific.

The film follows the story of Aron Ralston when his right forearm got pinned for nearly five days under a boulder during a climb in Utah in May 2003. He used a dull knife to amputate the limb, then scaled a 65-foot sheer wall and hiked out before running into a family that gave him water and food. He was finally rescued by helicopter.

Right now Boyle is looking for an actor to play Ralston. It will most definitely be a heavy job since the movie will definitely be mostly on the shoulders of the actor. Production is said to begin early next year with a release shortly after.
