Universal Settles Lawsuit over The 4th Kind Fake News


So you should all know at this point that the premise of the 4th Kind was as fake as a three dollar bill and if you did not well... now you do. According to Newsvine Universal Studios has just settled in a lawsuit with the Alaska Press Club over fabricated articles that were generated to help promote the film and its 'true story' angle.  

Newsvine reports that Universal Pictures fabricated articles as well as obituaries in Nome Alaska a decade ago. The articles which were fake were credited to Alaskan Publications. As part of the settlement the Alaska Press Club gets a cash settlement and Universal must remove all of the fake articles.  

I did not bother with the 4th kind but to me it came off as a very weak attempt at reality based horror. I like everyone else opted for the more creative Paranormal Activity. Although if you look at the reviews on site The 4th Kind has the same approval rating as Paranoraml Activity, 85%
