Death Race Remake Sequel Doesnt Try Very Hard

From SpoilerTV comes word that they are not trying at all with the sequel to the remake of Death Race. I thought the remake was pretty fun and a sequel had a bit of promise. Its a shame they are going to do what studios love to do and just remake the same movie with a different cast. The synopsis is reportedly;

Newly arrived at Terminal Island, a prison for the most nonredeemable of convicts, CARL “LUKE” LUCAS must prove his mettle in a race to the death…

Thanks for trying Hollywood! Couldnt come up with any other imaginative cash in on the remake? Seriously... did you even try? So much for the rumors this one would be a prequel.
