Writer Attached For Underworld 4

We have been hearing a little bit about another Underworld film for quite some time and today finally we have some news about what is officially happening. According to THR's Heat Vision blog The Shield writer John Hlavin will work on the script for Screen Gems/Lakeshore Entertainment.

So far we don't know what else to go on. The only official news on the film is that it will probably be in 3D with a target release date of January 21st, 2011. We also know that Len Wiseman, who directed the first two films in the vampire-vs.-werewolf saga, is producing with Gary Lucchesi, Tom Rosenberg and Richard Wright of Lakeshore.

Currently there is no word on whether or not Kate Beckinsale will return but she has gone on the record that if there was a good script she would jump on board. No word on whether or not Rhona Mitra would jump on or not either.
