In 1984, Silent Night, Deadly Night drew the ire of critics and parents alike. Mass protests across America forced Tri Star Pictures to withdraw all advertising for the film, and eventually, the film itself. Twenty five years later, and just in time to screw with the holiday season, DEDsploitation Cinema is proud to bring back one of the most controversial movies of all time, Silent Night, Deadly Night in glorious 35mm!
A toy store employee, haunted by his parents’ murder at the hands of a psycho in a St. Nick suit, has a mental breakdown after being forced by his boss to don the very same Santa getup of his nightmares. Dangerously unbalanced and armed with an axe, the jolly red-and-white-clad Billy embarks on a murderous Christmas Eve mission to punish all the naughty boys and girls that cross his path.
It’s a race against time as the authorities scramble to stop “Anti-Claus” before he reaches his final destination – the town orphanage! Also included in the evening’s devilish delights is our encore presentation of TREEVENGE, the yuletide trees-gone-amok short that was the hit of the Fantasia Festival, the Deadmonton Horror Festival, the Toronto After Dark Festival, Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, and the Sundance Film Festival.
