Ghostbusters 3 Shooting This Summer?

We have heard a lot of talk about what is going to happen with Ghostbusters 3. What we haven't seen is anyone come out with some official announcement. Well today is no different but Harold Ramis did do an interview with Heeb Magazine about when he wants to get the film going.

"Something’s going to happen. Dan [Aykroyd] did write a spec GB3 screenplay a few years ago, but no one was motivated to pursue it. Now, 25 years after the original, there seems to be some willingness to proceed and apparently a substantial public appetite for a sequel. We’ll introduce some new young Ghostbusters, and all the old guys will be in it, too. Think Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future ... GB3 is progressing with plans to shoot next summer and release in 2011."

So that sounds reassuring for now. But I'm still waiting for a studio head to really come forward and make it all official. I've seen plenty of directors with dream projects never get off the ground to be skeptical. With the talent involved though I can help but be excited about the idea. Hopefully we'll get that official word soon.
