Resident Evil: Afterlife Moves Back To September

A few months ago, word got out that the fourth in the Resident Evil series, Afterlife, was going to be delayed until early 2011 in order to give more time in post-production for the visual and 3D effects.  And yes if you haven't heard yet, Afterlife will be getting released in 3D.

STYD learned recently that the move to 2011 isn't happening.  The film is still on track for a September 2010 release but has been bumped up by two weeks to September 10.  Which, no longer puts it in contest with Joss Whedon's Cabin in the Woods, a film that was going under a 3D conversion for a 2011 release.  But with RE back in September, Woods should now have claim over digital screens in January.

So Resident Evil: Afterlife is back to a September release date.  A move which I'm in part happy about as I really want to see the film.  But also was kinda liking the delay to allow more work on the visual effects.  Oh well, still got nine months to go before it's release.  Resident Evil: Afterlife will be released on September 10, 2010.
