David Goyer talks Blade Spinoffs and Blade 4 Movie

David Goyer told SCI FI Wire that a spinoff movie centering on the Nightstalker characters of Abby Whistler (Jessica Biel) and Hannibal King (Ryan Reynolds) would be possible, if "Blade: Trinity" does well.

"When New Line read the script, they said, 'Wow, these characters are really great. We love these characters. We'd love to see them again for sure.' And then when we cast Ryan and Jessica, they just said, 'Well, ... should they be successful, let's put something in place. Let's put a deal in place just in case.'"

Goyer also said:

"And so if the will of the people dictates it, then we'll try a movie with them. It wouldn't involve vampires, though. It would be something else.".

The director was not so positive when asked about a fourth movie of the Blade series:  "'Trinity' is probably the last Blade film. You never know. Sean Connery said he'd never do another Bond movie, (but did) 'Never Say Never Again'. But I'd be hard pressed to come up with a fourth Blade story I wanted to tell. But you never know. They're trying to do a fourth Indiana Jones.".

Also Wesley Snipes is not so sure, wether he will star in another sequel or not, Goyer says:

"I donít know. ... When we finished Blade II, he told me, 'I only have one more of these in me.' We said 'OK.' And then when Wizard magazine was up, he did an interview on the set, and he said, 'Yeah, I think this is the last one.' And then recently he's been saying that maybe he would want to do another one. I don't know. I mean, they're hard movies for him to do, and they're hard movies to do, period.".

The third movie "Blade: Trinity" comes to cinems on the 8th of December.
