Director Drops Keanu Reeves' Jekyll

Awhile back it was announced that Danish director Nicolas Refn was going to helm the Jekyll remake that was starring Keanu Reeves. However today Empire Online is reporting that Refn has decided to drop off the film to concentrate instead on steering Ryan Gosling's heistman around LA in Drive.

Refn told the site that it had nothing to do with Jekyll but was simply a matter of time, "I just couldn't do it when they needed me. Keanu is a wonderful actor and I'm sure it will be a fantastic film with him in."

Currently there is no word on who is going to replace Refn. This will probably put a kink in the plans for the film to get any kind of quick turnaround. As soon as we get word on who will be replacing the director we will let you know.
