Spawn 2 Finally Seeing Some Movement

We have heard Todd McFarlane talk about making Spawn 2 before. All good things especially considering he said he wanted to make a "darker, grittier, scarier" Spawn film. But today we have gotten news courtesy of Newsarama that McFarlane may be one step closer to getting a deal done.

“I’ve had the idea in my head for over 10 years,” McFarlane said, “and I want to write, produce and direct it and just go, ‘ here it is'. I’m 80% through the script, I did my due diligence, went around Hollywood... I listened to the pitch from all the big studios, but I just went, ‘nah, I need to make this small and tight and contained.’"

He also told the site that three smaller studios said they were very interested in the project. As long as he can keep the budget low. This is a project that I'm sure every Spawn comic book fan has been waiting for. Hopefully McFarlane knows what he is doing and doesn't try and follow in Frank Miller's footsteps with The Spirit.
