Sigourney Weaver Dons Fangs in Vamps

Sigourney Weaver without a doubt is a bit of a legend in the genre.  Her Ellen Ripley in Aliens paved the way for pretty much every tough female lead in action movies we've seen since the eighties.  She also netted an Oscar nod for that role, another big plus.  Her involvement in horror otherwise has been fairly lax, but according to Empire, she's recently signed onto the vampire romantic-comedy Vamps

Vamps is written and directed by Amy Heckerling (Fast Times at Ridgemont High & Clueless) and tells the story of two vampires, played by Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter,  in modern day New York who are met with a heavy decision.  Stay immortal or give up their immortality for their new loves.  Weaver will be playing the vampire queen who turned the pair.  Vamps is scheduled to go before cameras late next month.
