Fright Night Remake Director Confirmed

Apparently the Fright Night remake has been a "high priority" project over at DreamWorks and it looks like today they have confirmed who will direct it. According to Variety Craig Gillespie has officially signed on to be the man behind the helm.

Mad Men scribe Marti Nixon has been hired by Dreamworks to write the script this time around. Apparently they will keep the original story and modernize the effects. Nixon is familiar with vampires as well though having written for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel.

The original "Fright," released in 1985, was written and directed by Tom Holland and starred Chris Sarandon, Roddy McDowall and William Ragsdale. Ragsdale played a teenager who discovers his neighbors are vampires.
