Tim Burton Directing The Addams Family 3D?

Right after Tim Burton finished his Alice In Wonderland 3D adventure he is jumping right back into the format according to Deadline New York. He will direct a stop-motion animated film based on Charles Addams' original ghoulish cartoon drawings of The Addams Family. Apparently the film will not have anything to do with the previous incarnations of Addams’ work, the 60s TV series or the two `90s feature film comedies.

So what exactly does he plan on doing with the story? His intention is to go back to the litany of Addams illustrations that displayed a sharper wit than could be placed into a 60s family TV series. This should be interesting to see exactly which direction he decides to take the Addams Family but we all know Tim Burton has quite a twisted imagination so it should be a good outing.
