Ghostbusters 3 In Danger of Being Cancelled
Of course by this point we have all heard about the debacle of getting Ghostbusters 3 off the ground. Well apparently Columbia is really behind the film and the plan of getting it filmed is very real. Only one huge obstacle right now is in the way. That oddly enough is four of the key players involved and the director.
According to Vulture, in the 80s Producer Mike Ovitz, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis all have quite a bit of power when it comes to the making of Ghostbusters 3. Written into their contract they have the option of having the final say on who will direct the film and many other creative choices. If they do not get that say they can make it nearly impossible for Columbia to make the film.
Columbia is not very high on having Ivan Reitman coming on board and directing the third film in which the old busters teach a new young team. What they wanted was to bring a newer younger director to take the helm however this is looking less and less likely. So they may decide to not even make the film. But the problem with that is come 2011 they don't have any big films schedueled.
Only time will tell what is going to happen with this film and hopefully they get this all worked out so we can get ourselves some good Ghostbusters action.
